A Little About Our Products
Ashima earth friendly bags are sewn from indigo dyed recycled cotton, as well as salvaged silk, cotton, upholstery
and designer textiles. Ashima is also dedicated to making sure our products are not only made from great earth friendly materials
but are made by people who are paid fairly and work under comfortable and safe conditions. We consider everyone who works
for our company to be an equal partner, each valued and appreciated for the great and creative work they do. Here
is a little information to help you make an informed decision about your earth friendly purchases. What is recycled cotton? The textile we use to make our earth friendly bags
is cotton that is not used during the spinning, weaving and cutting processes. These extra fibers are then collected
and woven together to create a separate textile. By using recycled cotton we make use of fibers that otherwise would be unnecessarily discarded into landfills. What
is a salvaged textile? The salvaged textiles
used to create our earth friendly bags are collected from warehouses where overrun bolts are stored and, if unused, end up
in landfills. Reusing these textiles allows for you to help these fabrics find homes. Salvaged textiles range from vibrant silks, plush upholstery
fabrics and unique cottons. We never know what we are going to find, but the limited quantity of fabric make each bag unique.
Why Indigo? Today the versatility
and allure of indigo lives on due to its beauty as well as the rise in environmental awareness. Because indigo is a vegetable dye it is gentler on the environment than common chemical dyes, making our earth friendly bags perfect for the fashionable and
conscientious yogi!
